Independent concept / Directional study

Wayfinding

A fictional reading room: separate destination, direction and order in a compact sign system.

Wayfinding original artwork, shown in its full proportions
Original concept artwork. The full composition is shown without cropping.

The fictional brief

Organise three destinations in an imagined reading room. Show how a sign can distinguish its label from the direction it asks someone to take. No real building or client is represented.

The visual decision

Consistent horizontal divisions hold the system together. Arrow position and generous space make direction distinct from the destination name. The blue field frames the sign without adding an ornamental competing message.

From concept to implementation

Real wayfinding needs a measured environment, user routes, language decisions and specialist accessibility or building review where applicable. The study is not an installed or certified sign system.
